The area around Lake Ronkonkoma is one of the
oldest settled areas on Long Island, and it is also
one of the fastest growing. This combination can
result in the historic character of our community
being threatened. The Historic Preservation
Committee recognizes the need to safeguard areas
rich in historic character while at the same time
allowing our community to evolve.
The Historic Preservation Committee serves to:
- Identify and protect historic buildings and sites.
- Create public awareness of historic places in our
community.
- Work with the Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society.
