The [Insert Name Here] Triangle Park is Ready

If you have recently passed the little triangular park at the intersection of Church Street and Pond Road, you will have noticed that the Town has installed a perimeter fence and that there are pathways through the park.
The last task will be the installation of a new irrigation system, which was purchased by the Civic.

The Civic worked with the Town of Brookhaven to purchase the neglected piece of property and make improvements to turn an eyesore into a community asset.

Thanks to the efforts of Jim LaCarrubba, the previous Parks Commissioner, current Deputy Supervisor, and Ronkonkoma resident, Town Supervisor Brian Foley, Councilman Timothy Mazzei, Edward Morris, the current Parks Commissioner, and Mark Brosnan, the park is now ready for the next step. So we’re asking for volunteers and service organizations, like scouting groups, to help plant new trees and flower gardens this fall and next spring. Other possible projects include an information kiosk, a time capsule, and benches.

Our new park will also need a name, so the Civic will be holding a naming contest. Look for details in an upcoming newsletter and here on our website.
