The Lake Ronkonkoma Civic Organization’s Annual Fall
Festival, held September 24th at the Michael P.
Murphy Beach, was a huge success. The weather
cooperated and a great time was had by all. For the
children there were the pony rides and a petting zoo,
as well as the bouncy activities. There were plenty
of vendors offering a large variety of goods to keep
shoppers happy.
Special thanks go to Pat Duffield, Gregg Freedner, and Stacy Glut for organizing the festival again this year, Ann Zapata and Claire Scola for helping out at the “paint a pumpkin” table, Ken Kellaher for help with vendor set up, and all the other volunteers who contributed their time and energy.
The Events Committee also thanks Suffolk County Legislator John Kennedy for arranging for the Blood Mobile, Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore for the Corrections Department educational display, the Ronkonkoma Fire Department for providing their Safety Smoke House and stand-by ambulance, and the NYS DEC for their free fishing clinic for the children.
The lake is our community’s biggest asset and the Fall Festival gives us an opportunity to enjoy its beauty with fun, food and shopping, and with friends and family on a beautiful autumn day.
